TOUR LONG DESCRIPTION

 

First day

Narsarsuaq

From 14:00 until the evening

Arrival Narsarsuaq. Info at our office at Blue Ice Café. In the afternoon you can make the little hike to the viewpoint “Signalhøjen” (about one hour)

Second day

The village Igaliku (Gardar)

From 9:00 until the evening

Day trip to Igaliku – the most beautiful village in Greenland! The boat takes you to Itilleq from where you walk 4 km on a gravel road to the village. Igaliku was called Gardar by the Norse, and was a big farm as well as the residence for the Bishops. Today, it is a village thriving from sheep farming.

Third day

The village Qassiarsuk and the museum Brattahlid

From 9:00 until the evening

The village Qassiarsuk is situated across the fjord 15 minutes by boat from Narsarsuaq. Today sheep farmers are working on exact the same land as the Viking Eric the Red chose for his settlement more than 1000 years ago.

Forth day

Narsarsuaq Glacier

From 9:00 until the evening

Optional hike to the ice cap. The first part of the hike is quite easy through the Flower Valley. From here, a steep ascent (300 m) leads to a plateau, with an impressive view of the glacier and ice cap. For those who want to touch the glacier, a walk down to the edge follows.

Fith day

Boat trip to the Qooroq Ice Fjord

From 9:00 until the evening

A boat trip among icebergs of all colours, sizes and shapes.
